Alright, damnit...

I've become a big Nicolay Valuev fan guys. Heck -- I'm even trying my best to stop making fun of the enlarged forehead and excessive back hair (did he have a bad Rogaine accident???) and stop calling him Nicolay "Area 52" Valuev. ( I'm trying to just refer to him as 'Big Nic'...)

'Big Nic' is a gentlemen -- and a true sportsman. And while he's not that good ( "Is he the greatest 7-foot 300+pound hvy in history? Or...is he just the greatest 7-foot 300+pound hvy in history?" - B.B *The answer is the latter* ) he has worked hard -- and improved immensely since I first saw him years ago.

The big unsightly lummox has become a decent and respectable prizefighter, dahgummit...

As for Chagaev -- he's a tough cookie. But he's awfully 'sickly' for a hvy titlist and guy still in his 20's ( * He postponed this fight because of a viral infection, and postponed a fight last year due to hepatitis B. There are also rumors that he is nearly half-blind in one eye as well...)

ONDRIZEK -- this is a case for you I believe. Get to the bottom of this 'T.O'...*puffs on pipe*...

Hey...you oughta photoshop Valuev in a Christmas outfit this December Deac. ( * We won't let any kids under-12 see it -- just too damn scary.)

...Maybe we'll put him along with the annual "Santa Bos" (instead of the good-looking hookers) eh?

BTW - I like Ruslan Chagaev, but he has the absolute stupidest nickname of all-time in "The White Tyson".

With this latest info/rumour -- I kinda like "The One-Eyed Ruski".

Or no...wait a minute...

"Ruslan Roullete"?

"Gift decision"? Nonsense on that one Bos.

The only "gift" provided was the tremendous and graceful 12-rounds of Boxing that the Russian Giant treated us all to.

you must be talkig about the likovitch fight EVEN THE GERMAN ANNOUNCERS WERE LAUUGHING AT THE BERGERON DECISION HE MADE BERGERON LOOK LIKE SWEETPEA
bizzack wrote on May 8
Yes, VALUEV did in fact look a little like SweetPea out there Snoop. (hehehe...)

* Actually...I never saw the Bergeron fight. But I believe Houston had him winning, and very rarely to I disagree with Houston.

Valuev seems like a hard working and fine man. Yes he has improved but he is horrible to watch. Wladimir would cream him. God forbid if he would have met Lennox Lewis. TIMBER.......

Any of those great hvy's of the 90's would have beaten him Jim, perhaps by 'timber' -- perhaps by TKO.

If Valuev had a HUGE punch to go along with his (seemingly) solid chin, decent stamina, and HUGE size -- he might have really been something FRIGHTNING!

"Horrible to watch"?

Nonsense Jimmy. He is "poetry in (SLOW) motion"!

( "Nonsense is better than no sense at all". )

"GO BIG NICK!"

;-)

I used to love the Hvyweight division. What the hell happened? makes me long for the days of Dokes and Weaver

I have as much desire to see Valuev fight as I do dating my ex-wife...NONE !!!

I liked Mike Weaver too. I don't think Mike ever realized how good he was or how good he could have been. He was strong as hell and he had a great left hook. He could box a bit too. I remember him jabbing Scott LeDoux silly for twelve rounds. There for a while he really was the 2nd best heavyweight in the world behind the great Larry Holmes.

Speaking of LeDoux...I love watching the last two or three rounds of his draw with Kenny Norton. Scott had a very tired Norton hurt and ready to go.

One more thing...I still think Weaver got robbed in his second fight with Michael Dokes. Weaver had to settle for a draw and Dokes retained the title. Speaking of Dokes...He was from Akron, Ohio and he was so talented. He could have and should have been champ for a long time.

Weaver is one of my favs. The guy was solid. He had Holmes on the verge of an upset. My fav Hurcules fight was when he left hooked "The Truth" on ABC.
marvdave wrote on May 10
and yes, Weaver was robbed in the Dokes rematch, and in the first fight when Joey Cortez stopped the fight too early.
