Mr.Monzon-
True, Larry was out, but he had good recouperative power and I thought he displayed them well enough that the Ref made the right call in letting it go. I'm a little less sure of the Ref's decision to wave it off in the 11th, that would be the one I might question.

'The Sniper' was no joke, and he certainly did put a scare into Larry. From what I recall, Larry went down as shot by a bolt of lightning. But as Murph said -- his recuperative powers were amazing.

* I think maybe the precise state of Larry's peril at that moment has been slightly exxaggerated through the years, but it has been quite some time since I've seen it, so don't quote me on that. Snipes - from what I hear - is still bitter to this day about that fight. However, truth be told, despite that big knockdown -- he was losing that fight.

BTW - Like many of the 80's fighters, I think Snipes career might have gotten a little bit 'derailed' by cocaine -- but I am NOT certain about that.

Bizzy-
As for Larry's Recuperative Powers, anybody who survived Earnie Shavers best righthand and LIVED, much less went on to win the fight, could probably take a Bolt of Lightning and laugh about it ;) As for the Snipes fight itself, the stoppage might've somewhat suspect, but I think I only gave Snipes one round other than the knockdown round, it wasn't that great a fight or much in doubt beyond those few dramatic seconds.
