To me, I thought Howard was kind of annoying when I was watching the fights live. Now watching them on tape I enjoy Howard. He was very much a part of that era.

Howard was a total jackass and a-hole -- but I loved him. Amongst other things, the Monday Night Football Halftime highlights? Brilliant. Man, I used to put on my helmet and grab the nerf football and look forward to those almost more than the game itself! ( *the music kicks in* "Earl Campbell...RIGHT THERE!" )

And as for the exchanges with Clay/Ali? Priceless. ( "That thing is so phony -- it looks like it was made from the tail-of-a-pony!" LOL!)

WELL, I Guess i was lucky i watched mr cosell at the end of his career. i was 8 when he did the 77 world series. i believe on national tv he was toasted. MRMONZON.

I've read a couple of Howard's books. " Cosell " and " I 've Never Played The Game ". I enjoyed the chapters on boxing, baseball and football.
